The Four Seasons Hotel in Kuala Lumpur epitomizes the glamorous heartbeat of Malaysia’s capital. Situated at the center of the Golden Triangle neighborhood – the city’s exciting business, shopping and entertainment hub, and adjacent to the emblematic Petronas Twin Towers, it stands out with panache.
We were delighted to participate in this project defined by success and style, in cooperation with Wilson Associates – the leading global interior design firm renowned for its strategic alliance with Zaha Hadid Architects and for fostering a fresh perspective of luxury, both iconic and diverse.
Our role consisted in devising the chandelier that takes center stage in the gallery space of the main entrance lobby characterized by a sleek contemporary design. Given this modernist aesthetic, we naturally aimed for a pared-down yet genuinely inventive and offbeat variation on the traditional chandelier piece. We achieved this result by opting for triangular glass rods instead of classically shaped crystal components. The brainchild of our designer Jiri Krisica, the final form of the chandelier stemmed from the vision of a delicacy, as one of theestablishment’s main lures is presented as “a gourmand’s paradise”. The varying length of the individual components enhances the overall design and produces an image of resemblance to a delicious layered cake. Moreover, when observed from below, this artwork creates the impression of a flower in full bloom!
This artwork assembles a total of 868 components in 7 different lengths ranging from 250 to 900 mm. The rods are made of profiled technical glass with polished finish, cut to required length.
